Kofi Kinaata, a well-known musician in Ghana, has claimed that being in the company of renowned statesmen and receiving special treatment at the embassy are just two of the rewards of his music career.
On Accra 100.5FM today, Tuesday, December 20, 2022, Kofi was a guest of Nana Romeo.
When asked what he had gained from doing music, he said quickly.
“I have benefitted so much from being a musician,” he said.
“Recently, I was in the office of the head of the Ghanaian army,” he added. “All the individuals in the room were Generals, Major Rtd, and more. Ordinarily, I can’t be in such company but for my music.”
Kinaata also recalled performing “recently at the birthday party for ex-President Kufour.”
He was pleased to reflect on the exceptional privilege of “having a chat, taking pictures” with such a dignitary among those of like stature.
The rapper and singer emphasized how he has been granted the chance to visit significant locations and, in certain cases, has received special permissions.
“Recently, I was late to the German Embassy. When I got there, I was told not to worry and that the one I was to see had been to my show at +233 before so they’ll see to me and follows me [on social media]. I was specially attended to when everyone in the queue had left,” he narrated. “So, yeah, these are some of the benefits that come with my job.”
He was quizzed about groupies by Nana Romeo. Kofi started laughing heartily.
This Friday, December 23, 2022, Kinaata will perform at an event called “The Bronya Experience,” which is also known as “The Christmas Experience,” with fellow Sekondi-Takoradi local and Highlife legend Gyedu-Blay Ambolley.
The most recent song by Kofi Kinaata is titled “Everyday (Essikafo Ammba Ntem).”
