C/R: Hon.Gizella Tetteh Abgotui Sponsors Youth in Awutu Senya West to acquire Skills at Design and Technology Institute

NDC Member of Parliament for Awutu Senya West Constituency,Hon.Gizella Tetteh Abgotui has awesomely sponsored
numerous young men and women in her constituency to acquired skill training from DTI, East legon.

The training took its roots from the ‘wired for jobs’ in the country with market driven technical skills in the 3 main modules:
-Precision quality welding and fabrication
-Design and innovation

The skill training took it’s shield from Nyarkokwaa, Bontrase, Bawjiase and beyond where the young men and women were given equal opportunities .

Learning a trade in the country comes with capital and resources but the MP broke myth to connect these youth to this glorious opportunity.

During the graduation, It was outermost pleasure to see excellent event management, choreography and organization as usual from Ms Constance Swaniker, the CEO of the school.

At the graduation ceremony, the MP took the opportunity to thank the board, management, faculty and the students of Design and Technology Institute, the premier private TVET school in Ghana for infusing technical, operational and managerial skills and creativity with purpose.

The school started with an enrollment of 33 in 2019, moved to 117 in 2021 and now stands at 227 in 2022 with a 30% female enrollment quota which they are intentionally about achieving annually.

The expansion of the school to their 10 acre campus near Asheshi University campus is ongoing and will allow for a further increase in intake but more access to this training for the youth.

Academically, degree holders are also admitted for TVET skills that will refocus their purpose for the job market.

Currently there is another batch of 12 students recently enrolled into DTI from Awutu senya west who will graduate in 2023.

The MP, assured her constituents that she will continually seek for quality interventions into the Human Capital development with such collaborations and partnerships.

This is another dimension of the MP’s AsumiApa skills program to reduce unemployment in the district.

The people of Awutu Senya West lavished praises and admiration on the MP for the timely intervention.
