Ambrose Dery, the interior minister, has proclaimed Wednesday, September 21, a legal public holiday.
The day has been set aside to commemorate Dr. Kwame Nkrumah, Ghana’s first president.
In a statement on Monday, September 19, Mr. Dery stated that the day is to be honored as such throughout the nation.
“The general public is hereby informed that Wednesday, 21st September, 2022 which marks Kwame Nkrumah Memorial Day, is a Statutory Public Holiday and should be observed as such throughout the country.” he stressed.
