World Suicide Prevention Day: Creating Hope Through Action; Your Support Can Save A life.

It is estimated that over 700,000 thousand people take their lives annually around the World , and this must be controlled and minimized through the efforts of all of us.

Raising awareness will help reduce the stigma around suicides ,which will encourage and inform people through our actions and support systems.

Many people have profound impact on them through each suicidal death, because a breadwinner is gone. The dependents of victims of suicidal deaths gets affected emotionally, psychologically, physically, also socioeconomically. It is by this reasons that we need to intensify our eagle eyes in looking out for those living the suicidal thoughts, so we can help them out with a listening ears without prejudice and stigmatisation.

People with suicidal thoughts need our supports no matter how small or big it is to provide them with hope and sense of living to preserving their lives.

The best way to prevent suicide is to recognize the warning signs and know how to respond to such crisis to avert further tensions in your mind about the suicidal thoughts/ ideations bedeviling you.

Many people today are going through much suicidal thoughts due to family pressures, marriage/ relationship mistrusts, business failures, high unemployment situations in Africa, Ghana, hardships in the country and the subregions, losses, disappointment and an unassuming high expectations in life within the shortest possible time frame.

Major signs and symptoms of suicide includes ; sleeplessness, excessive thinking, over or under eating , withdrawal and isolation from friends and families, depressed mood, disorganised , high blood pressure, tension headaches, limited concentration on a task, hopelessness, low self esteem and above all *thinking ways to end one’s life.

Coping strategies:

Share your problems with trusted friends or families.

Seek psychological counseling from qualified personnel.

Read more motivational quotes, read success stories of those who went through earlier harder life experiences.

Read your religious Holy Books and claim the prophecies from God concerning your life.

Join activities of interest and avoid being alone most often.

Keep professing positive words concerning your life.

You and I are minded to playing our roles in supporting those experiencing a suicidal crisis or those affected by suicidal deaths.

Create more hopes through your actions and inactions and together we shall save lives.
