First Lady, Mahama, Alan, Ken Agyapong, and others spotted at Jospong’s father’s funeral.

Rebecca Akufo-Addo, the First Lady of Ghana, attended Opanyin Samuel Kwame Agyepong’s last burial and funeral service. Opanyin was the father of Dr. Joseph Siaw Agyepong, Executive Chairman of the Jospong Group of Companies.

John Dramani Mahama, the former president of Ghana, attended the funeral service that was held in the State House’s courtyard.

Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, vice president of Ghana, also attended the occasion.

A few prominent members of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) as well as the Trade Minister Alan Kyeremanteng and the Assin Central MP Kennedy Ohene Agyepong were also detained at the scene.

Social media users have commented on videos from the burial in response to the display of culture and grandeur.

Family, friends, and mourners attended the much-discussed burial on Saturday, September 10, dressed in the standard white-and-black sarong.

At the age of 98, Opanyin Agyepong passed away in June 2022.
