Youth! Be determined, focused, and time conscious - Bright Botchway

The National Democratic Congress (NDC) Deputy Regional Youth Organizer for Central Region, Mr. Bright Botchway on behalf of Eric Edem Agbana(Deputy National youth organizer) spoke at a Youth Empowerment Forum organized by the embattled Assembly Member Hon. Nathaniel Acheampong in Winneba in the Efutu Constituency.

In an interview with some media houses present, the NDC Central Regional Deputy Youth Organizer in charge of Operations and the incoming Substantive Central Regional Youth Organizer emphasized that there’s nothing on this Earth that can’t be traced back to the Holy Bible. Using Zacchaeus as a case study in the Bible, he said Zacchaeus never allowed his predicament (height) to prevent him from achieving his lifetime ambition of seeing and meeting Jesus Christ.

He emphasized that, regardless of his height and the huge crowd that mobbed Jesus, he still persevered and climbed the tree and saw Jesus Christ whom he eventually hosted in his house.

Throwing more light on the lessons in the case study, he admonished young people, especially the youth to be more focused, persevere, and time conscious. He said Zacchaeus has a goal to see and meet Jesus so he put behind him every obstacle that could prevent him from realizing his dream (FOCUS). Even at the time, there seemed to be no hope, he pushed through (PERSEVERANCE). Finally, he exhibited punctuality. He got to the destination at the right time (TIME CONSCIOUSNESSES) else Jesus would have passed by before he riches there.

Hon. Bright Botchway again admonished that there’s time for everything so the youth should learn to manage their time very well and take advantage of wise counsel from elders.

He went ahead and commended the efforts of Hon. Nathaniel Acheampong won his Assembly Membership election in the last election but was denied the victory through political interference from the current Member of Parliament who is also the Deputy Majority leader, Hon. Afenyo Markins and some elements within the Constituency belonging to the ruling NPP government.

Bright Botchway also accused the current MP of Efutu of having a hand in this court case meant to delay the swearing-in and deny him of the victory won despite the numerous developmental achievements to his credit.

He then appealed to the MP for the area, Hon. Afenyo Markins to look beyond partisanship and ensure that the young man is given room and the needed support to serve so he can continue his good works.
