NDC grassroots tips Nii Armah Ashitey as the next chairman for the party

Nii ArmahAshitey, a former Greater Accra Regional Minister has been tipped by the grassroots to lead the National Democratic Congress (NDC) as its National Chairman.

According to them, they see Nii Armah Ashitey as experienced and seasoned politician who can turn the fortunes of the party going into 2024 elections.

He said, politics is a vocation and therefore, shouldn’t be confused with a profession or career path.As practice all over the world, political participation is primarily describe as means to contribute to the growth and development of society and not necessarily for self aggrandizement.

Majority of bigwigs within the rank and file of the party sees him as the best man to take the chairmanship mantle to lead the revival and restructuring of the party as it is yearning to recapture power from the NPP government in 2024.

Touching on his chairmanship ambition, the former Member of Parliament Korle Klottey and Constituency Chairman observed that “my inner self, coupled with calls from grassroots has propelled me to get involved and to join the race at the appropriate time, I have been a founding member of NDC from the grassroots to the party’s present stage.

Having been Member of Parliament, former Metropolitan Chief Executive of Tema as well as Minister of State, under former Presidents Jerry Rawlings, Atta Mills and John Mahama administrations, I have the strong conviction that leading the party as the national chairman will be an added advantage to NDC,” Nii Ashitey added.

Hon.Nii Armah Ashitey who is an astute lawyer and trade unionist once served as a Minister of Employment and Labour Relations under the erstwhile Mahama government.He is clothed as a hard working UNIFIER,a strategist, an organizer, a man with unquestionable integrity and the necessary experience in politics to lead the NDC.

He urged the grassroots to give him their unflinching support thus being the chairman of the will lead NDC to Victory come 2024.

Meanwhile, some influential big guns within the NDC particularly in the Bono, Western, Western North, Volta, Oti and the Greater Accra regions also commenced calling on him to lead the party as it’s chairman.
