Ex president Mahama, NDC bigwigs pay last respect to Ama benyiwah-doe

Gomoa Abora in the Central Region was thrown into a state of mourning when former member of the Council of State, Ama Benyiwa Doe, was laid to rest.

In a Euphoria that is akin to that of the triumphant entry of Jesus of Nazareth to Jerusalem, the entire Gomoa Abura town in the Central region stood still and the funeral grounds went agog as mourners halted wailing to meet the former president John Dramani Mahama of the NDC as he approached the funeral grounds in the company Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Samuel Ofosu- Ampofo and General Secretary Johnson Asiedu Nketia,Hon.Cassiel Ato Baah forson etc.

The NDC Women’s Organiser, Dr Louisa Hannah Bissiw, Tamale North Member of Parliament (MP), Alhassan Suhuyini, colleague parliamentarians as well as other NDC fire brands were also at Gomoa to pay their last respect to the late Benyiwah-Doe.

The late Doe, who served in Ghana’s Parliament from 1992 to 2004 for the Gomoa West constituency, passed on in September 2021 after a short illness.

Relatives, residents and mourners from all works of life thronged the town in their numbers to wail and lament as they mourn their heroine.
