Awutu Senya east chairman storms the funeral of late Ama Benyiwah-Doe

Awutu Senya West consistency Chairman of the National Democratic Congress NDC, Mr Stephen Ofosu Agyare storms the funeral grounds of former Central regional minister, Ama Benyiwah-Doe.

Today is the final funeral rites for the former Central Regional Minister under the erstwhile John Evans Atta Mills government.

Dignitaries and family members of the deceased, on Saturday morning, thronged her home town at Gomoa Abor, to observe the final funeral rites.

In attendance were the able and great hearted Chairman Agyare , the eminent and preeminent party stalwart of the NDC in the Awutu Senya West consistency,Joseph Abekah Mensah aka Commander who is aspiring to become the next deputy regional organiser as well as some high-ranking members of the NDC and government.

Ama Benyiwaa Doe died on Sunday, September 19, 2021, at Tema at age 73 after a protracted ailment.

She was also a former member of the Council of State and a former National Women’s Organizer for the NDC.

Chairman Agyare used the occasion to eulogize the late relative.

“She could look at you in the face and tell you the truth, whether it is bitter or sweet. We have lost someone who is open and straightforward and still keeps you close to her as a mother. That is one part that we are going to miss.”he said

Ama Benyiwa-Doe was first elected into Parliament during the December 1992 general elections on the ticket of the National Democratic Congress as MP for the Gomoa West Constituency in the Central Region.

Her loyalty was a never-ending inspiration’ – NDC
The NDC has eulogized their former member today

“To the older members of the NDC, Auntie Ama was a shining example of conviction, dedication, and hard work around which alone this party was built from grassroots up onto the heights that chalked the victories of nation-building and the cementing of the Social Democratic ideology into the political fabric of Ghana.”

“To the youth, and most especially the young women, she was a bright star whose loyalty and commitment was a never-ending inspiration. Sadly, the Lord who gave her to us and has called her back home.

She was not only a politician, but also a gender activist and champion of women’s rights. Ama Benyiwa-Doe was an embodiment of limitless courage, commitment, and passion for service
