Statenews.com has been told by our sources close to East Legon Police station that Samuel Brenya, a self-styled businessman who lives an extravagant and luxurious life and drives around Accra in posh cars has been arrested, allegedly on fraud charges.
Police successfully effected his arrest yesterday over charges of issuance of fake cheques through court warrant at Alisa Hotel poolside during a funeral reception of one of the younger siblings of Mr Twum of Firestone Tyres. Samuel Brenya has since been sent to East Legon Police station where he will be in their custody until Monday when he will be arraigned before court for prosecution.
Apparently, before he was taking to the cells, Samuel Brenya was spotted making frantic efforts through calls to powerful friends within the service for pardon and cover up the arrest from the media.
Not long ago, a similar case of fraudulent charges was levelled against him yet he declined the police invitation after several calls to get him reported at the station from his hideout and has since remained on the police wanted lists.
Statenews.Com is following the development and will report every detail to the general public.
