Ambassador of Appomense Hope for Africa Kenya- Ghana, Madam Leila Omar and Appomense Health and Welfare Team donated Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to Gomoa Nyanyano district police command in the Gomoa east district as part of efforts to protect frontline Policemen in the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic.
The items, which were donated, includes sets of face shields, boxes of N95 face masks, surgical gloves, hand sanitisers and rubbing alcohol.
Speaking during the presentation, Ambassador Leila Omar, Appomense Hope for Africa said, “We value the priceless role that your country’s policemen are playing in the fight against COVID-19. The donation is in line with the Foundation’s commitment to ensure that all rural areas will be safe during and after the Pandemic. We deemed it important to equip them with PPEs and essential medical supplies whilst fighting this disease.”
According to her, the donation was made in keeping all protocols observed to ensure Police staff who continued to work for the safety of the country are well protected.
Receiving the items on behalf of the facility was Superintendent Harrison Katso, commended Ambassador Leila Omar and the Appomense Health and Welfare Team for their support in the fight against COVID-19 in Ghana.
Commenting on the donation, Superintendent Harrison Kasto of Gomoa Nyanyano district police command in the Gomoa east district said, ” We are Grateful to Ampomense Hope for Africa for the donation of these items. The PPEs are items that we really need and have come in at the right time to enhance the work in the security sector”.
Today, Ampomense Hope for Africa has donated items of PPEs to Two(2) Places. In the previous weeks, Ampomense Hope for Africa presented to Ga South Municipality with their donations of PPEs.
Appomense hope for Africa donated portable Polymerase Chain Reaction(PCR) equipment to the Ga South Municipality to assist in conducting widespread testing and detection of COVID-19 in Ghana.
